Actor Hopes to Aid Families with Children like His
Actor Colin Farrell has announced the launch of the Colin Farrell Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting families affected by Angelman syndrome, a rare neurogenetic disorder that affects his 20-year-old son, James.
Farrell shared that he has kept James' condition private for years, but now feels the need to share his experiences and offer support to other families facing similar challenges.
Angelman syndrome is characterized by delayed development, speech problems, and other issues. According to the Mayo Clinic, it is a rare condition that affects approximately 1 in 15,000 people.
Farrell expressed his hope that the foundation will raise awareness, provide resources, and support research into Angelman syndrome. He stated that he wants to give back to families like his own and help them navigate the challenges of raising a child with special needs.
